Dewey’s 24-hour-readathon is still a thing! I’m still doing it! GO GO GO!
I finished Velveteen vs. The Junior Super Patriots, as well as Attachments by Rainbow Rowell. Next up: The Girl Who Raced Fairyland All The Way Home by Rainbow Rowell, and more of The Raven Boys on audiobook.
Page count is up to 500 or so.
Hour 8: The Fictional Feast: “a literary dish that you’ve always wanted to try and what you think it might taste like.”
The Redwall series by Brian Jacques: I was always really fascinated by the MANY foods and drinks mentioned in the series, especially treacle tart (I had no idea what that was at the time) and dandelion cordial. I’m still tempted to try dandelion cordial……..
Hour 9: Share A Quote
This time I pulled a quote from The Raven Boys, which is CHOCK-FULL OF THEM:
“Being Adam Parrish was a complicated thing, a wonder of muscles and organs, synapses and nerves. He was a miracle of moving parts, a study in survival. The most important thing to Adam Parrish, though, had always been free will, the ability to be his own master.
This was the important thing.
It had always been the important thing.
This was what it was to be Adam.”
I love this quote so much. Oh, Adam, you beautiful grouchy honeybadger.
Hour 10: Character Destination
I would love to roadtrip with Annabeth from the Percy Jackson series. She’s really smart and very kind. I would like to take her up and down the Oregon coast, which is full of my favorite little haunts and beaches. We could explore all of the epic caves and she could put in a good word with Percy and Poseidon so that we wouldn’t have to worry about sneaker waves or drowning. We would definitely go to Newport for the sea lions, Florence for the Mo’s, and the Hobbit beach for the sand.
Hour 11: Alphabet Soup (find a word for each letter of the alphabet from the same book/series)
I used The Girl Who Raced Fairyland All The Way Home by Catherynne Valente.
X couldn’t find one NOOOOOOoooo
